Welcome The Tang Family: New Owners Of Fortune House

January 30, 2014 By Janet Williams 2 Comments

Updated 22nd February 2014:

Fortune House informed me that today is their last business day. The Tang family has decided to end their catering business in Chandler’s Ford after a month.

Fortune House in Winchester Road has got new owners. Congratulations and a warm welcome to David, Sim and Wing Tang to Chandler’s Ford!

The Tang family has just taken over Fortune House two weeks ago.

David Tang is an experienced cook with 35 years of experience. Originally from the Kowloon city of Hong Kong, David Tang has been working in this area for about 20 years.

David’s son Wing Tang told me that the family are looking to improve the customer service, the quality and quantity of food. They want to serve the best food to the community, and build a closer relationship with everyone.

David used to own Chinese Chef in Swaythling for many years.

David will be managing the take-away business of Fortune House, however, he is also training his son, Wing, to prepare him to take over the business in the future when he retires.

It is quite refreshing to see young people like Wing, the second-generation Chinese, who is willing to learn the trade of running a take-away business.

Fortune House will be closed briefly from the 2nd till the 14th of February. Wing said, “During this short period of closure, it will allow us time to recharge, to plan and create a fresh new vibe to Fortune House, to serve the Chandler’s Ford community.”

Note: Fortune House will close from 2nd – 14th February as the Tang family will be visiting family in China and Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year.
