Emi Wilks’ art caught my eyes in the Art & Design Market in Winchester.
Her art reveals inner peace. She names her art form as Meditation Art.
Originally from Japan, Emi Wilks explores happiness and well-being through studying both Western and Eastern medicine.
Emi said, “I started to paint as a form of meditation – an opportunity to connect with inner peace – and soon realised how easy it is to achieve.”
To share inner peace with other people and to promote the joy of art, she now runs workshops on meditation art. But how?
“We create very simply with pastel powder, paper and our fingers. The simplicity and tactile nature of the work is incredibly peaceful and relaxing, and anybody can get involved.”
According to the artist, the focus is the present moment. Sense, let go, and allow the art to flow through fingers, noticing the peace within.
I’m pleased that the artist has agreed to share her meditation art with us here. These are some of my favourites.
The artist has a website and she has just opened a little store on Etsy. Pop over there and you’ll be touched by both tranquility and warmth in Emi Wilks’ art.
