Local Author News – Allison Symes

Have you heard of the Society of Authors?

Congratulations to local writer and regular contributor to Chandler’s Ford Today, Allison Symes, who has been elected to become a Full Member of the Society of Authors.

Allison had been an Associate Member for many years due to her works in anthologies, but the advent of online writing and writing for other media has led to the SOA welcoming them as Full Members too.

It is no doubt a major achievement for Allison. Congratulations!

The Society of Authors

The Society of Authors campaigns on behalf of fiction and non-fiction writers across a huge range of genres.

It also holds events on a wide range of topics of interest to authors. They issue a quarterly magazine, The Author.

Read stories by Allison Symes on Alfie Dog Fiction

Allison has recently had her third story published on the Alfie Dog Fiction website called Life is What You Make It. She is due to have another short story called Just Desserts published with Alfie Dog later in April.

Stories by Allison Symes

You can read snippets of her stories and download the stories. Downloads of stories only cost 39p. The author receives half of the royalties once a certain amount has been reached. The site makes for great exposure for the author and for short story writing in general and Allison is very pleased to be involved with this site.

Allison is a prolific writer. Her blog Fairytales with Bite is enjoyable to read, where she shares her imaginations and her musings on writing with the readers.

Some of Allison’s posts that I love on Fairytales with Bite are:

  • Creative writing in the fairy kingdom
  • Etiquette in the fairy kingdom
  • What I love most about writing
  • My top ten Terry Pratchett characters
  • Asides to main writing…
  • Ten books that changed my life
  • Blog Posts – Fairytales with Bite
  • Things to watch out for when visiting the magical world

On Chandler’s Ford Today, Allison has also published a series of excellent articles about the local community, travel, reading and book reviews.

It’s a great privilege to publish Allison Symes’ articles on Chandler’s Ford Today. Chandler’s Ford Today is a platform where we gather people in the community to share their passion through writing. Thank you Allison for sharing your world on this website and inspiring us through your magical world.
