Join Chameleons

May 9, 2013 By Janet Williams Leave a Comment

Chandler’s Ford Chameleon Theatre Company was formed in 1965 and their members are busy planning events to celebrate their 50th Anniversary.

Recruitment from Chameleon Theatre Company:

Do you want to be part of the Company that stages an Alan
Ayckbourne play or an Oscar Wilde classic or a rip roaring
Pantomime? Then come and join us at Chameleons.

We meet every Tuesday at The Ritchie Hall (from 7.30pm) to rehearse the current production.

Members not involved with the current production can come along to watch the rehearsal, join in a play reading in the green room, stay for the coffee break and then adjourn to the local pub.

We perform four productions a year in January, April, July and October with one production being a pantomime.

If treading the boards is not for you then there are many backstage roles that need to be filled for each production.

Some of the backstage roles are as follows:

Stage Manager/Assistant Stage Manager – responsible for everything that happens backstage during the run.

Lighting – plots the lights with the director to achieve required atmosphere and operates lights during the run.

Sound – provides sound effects and music.

Props – works during the rehearsal period to source items and set dress-ing, and is backstage during run to move and supply props during course of the play.

Wardrobe – provides the costumes for the actors.

Production assistant – is with the director at all rehearsals, making notes of moves etc. Prompts the cast as they learn their lines.

Front-of-House Manager – to greet our audience on their arrival and en-sure their safety during the production.

Catering – to provide refreshments in the intervals and at the
summer production provide a cheese and wine buffet.

So why not come along and give us a try? Please come along any Tuesday or ring our Box Office 0845 6440496 for more information.
