It is official! Chandler’s Ford Today has got a new ‘fan’ – Eastleigh Borough Council.
In the December edition of Chandler’s Ford & Hiltingbury News (CFH News), Chandler’s Ford Today is recommended as a website which you should bookmark.
“If you have not already found it, I would strongly recommend that you bookmark Chandler’s Ford Today in your web browser.
We’ve been watching this popular web site develop and it is full of interesting and positive news about Chandler’s Ford.
It includes regular blogs from local contributors such as Roger Clark, Carolyn Darbyshire and Mike Sedgwick.
The site was created by local resident Janet Williams whose enthusiasm for the community in which she lives comes through time and time again.”

Chandler’s Ford Today has grown over the past 20 months since it started in March 2013.
To date, 56 writers have published nearly 570 posts. (Note: This number excludes 50 posts I deleted early this year as they were low quality posts which first appeared on the website.)
Chandler’s Ford Today didn’t start with a perfect plan.
However, by taking our first step in March last year, we are now slowly building a site with strong content that connects people and community through our stories and our actions.
Chandler’s Ford Today was an experiment. I didn’t even know if the site would succeed, if people cared to write, read or build it together.
That first step was tough. I make mistakes and stumble, however, we continue to write, connect, and make progress. Now with every single post we publish, we add value to both virtual and real communities.
Thank you for stopping by
I’m grateful that you stop by. I hope you continue to stay and build this site together.
Thank you for the support you have given me. For friends whom I’ve made through this website, thank you for your warmth and friendship, which I cherish.

If you have any suggestion or feedback, or if you know of a better way to move this site forward, please also share your views in the comment with us.
Mike Sedgwick says
Thank you Janet for giving us this valuable facility. I have enjoyed writing for it and enjoyed reading it. It would be good to get more people writing. Anyone can contribute. Just write about something you enjoy.
I liked your ‘Thank you for keeping Cliff Richard alive.’ I didn’t realise his life was in danger!
CFT has a pleasant ethos about it, due to Janet’s personality and charm. She has kept CFT non-commercial and encouraged discussion without any personal comments.
Here’s to the next 500, even 5000 posts.
Janet Williams says
When I first published the post, I typed “Thank you for keeping Cliff Richard alive.”
An hour later, I realised it sounded rather stupid, so I changed it to “bringing Cliff Richard to life”. I’m not sure it is a better version.
Should I have said “Thank you for rekindling Christmas spirit with Cliff Richard”!?
Perhaps just simply, “Thank you for Cliff Richard.”
