Following my previous post about the various emergency telephone numbers, here’s some useful information for people who can’t use a telephone easily.
As well as the 999/112 number I wrote about before, there is also a TEXT service available.
This is designed for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, speech impaired, or for any other reason have difficulties using a telephone. Your textwill be passed to the appropriate emergency service, who will then reply in the same way.
You do need to register your phone number first.
There is even a BSL (British Sign Language) video there.

101 is available in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It will direct you to the local police force covering the area you are dialling from. However it will also give you a choice of different police forces.
