Eastleigh Lions: Brambridge Park Santa’s Grotto 2014

Brambridge Park Christmas 2016 update:
Santa visits Brambridge Santa's grotto 2016

Below was my original post published on 24th December 2014

Last Saturday, I wrote about our delightful Christmas encounter at Brambridge Park Garden Centre.

Brambridge Park was turned into a fairground wrapped in festive mood: horses, carriage, carol singing, and a craft fayre.

This morning, David Bowring from Lions Club of Eastleigh explained how it helps bring Christmas festive spirit to Brambridge Park Garden Centre.

David Bowring explained:

“You missed out on the reason for the horses, carriage, singers and craft fayre which was the arrival of Father Christmas, who proceeded to chat to the children and then made a beeline for his rather wonderful grotto at the rear of the garden centre.

Lions Club of Eastleigh are manning this grotto each weekend 10.30 to 5.00 (Sat) and 4.00 (Sun) until Christmas.

The grotto is also open midweek on Tuesday 9th, 16th and 23rd from 5.00 to 7.00 during late opening, and on Thursday and Friday 11/12 and 18/19th December.

Tea and Breakfast with Santa, anyone?

To complete the Santa events, you can book Tea with Santa for Monday 8th or 15th and Breakfast with Santa on Saturday 13th and 20th (before he gets to work in the grotto!)

The Lions usually earn over £2000 for their charity funds from this month-long event, and hope to do even better this year as it is their 50th anniversary. Every penny earned by Lions for charity goes to charity, mainly local, as the members pay their own subscription to cover all administration.”

      Dear Hazel,

I think you would need to phone Brambridge Park to find out.

I’ll also pass on your question to Eastleigh Lions. If I hear from them, I’ll let you know.

We were there on the Tuesday evening, but not on Christmas eve as all of our Lions “staff” were otherwise occupied with family visits etc.
We expect to be operating right up to and including Christmas eve this year (2015) but as we had 2 hour queues each weekend in December and on the Tuesday night (22nd) we are looking at ways to schedule the visitors as we’ve already slimmed down the time between visitors to the minimum to ensure time with Santa is maximised.
Sorry for a very late reply, but my computer was under virus attack from 20th Dec, so didn’t see posting until too late!

        Hi Dave,

Thanks for the update. For the 2015 Christmas Santa grotto (well – only 11 months away), please give us more details nearer to the time. Perhaps you could give me a tour of the grotto!? I’ll be good.
