Eastleigh Christmas Lights Switch On and Fun Day; Winter Open Studios 2016

November 18, 2016 By Janet Williams 1 Comment

Tomorrow morning I’ll be heading for Eastleigh for the Eastleigh Christmas lights switch on and fun day.

Sound exciting, doesn’t it?

(So many coffee shops to choose from in Eastleigh. Tell me: which coffee shop should I visit tomorrow?)

It’s always worth visiting Eastleigh at this time. My favourite event will be the Winter Open Studios.

Eastleigh 2016 Christmas Lights switch on

On the 19th and 20th November 2016, The Sorting Office designer-maker studios in Eastleigh will be welcoming the public for its annual Winter Open Studios event.

You could look round the studios, talk to designer-makers, browse makers fayre and buy unique, locally crafted gifts just in time for Christmas.

The address is: 37 Wells Road, Eastleigh SO50 5FY

You can find out more details on Winter Open Studios.

There’ll be entertainment, Santa’s Grotto, live music, a fun fair, a mini-farm for the children and a variety of market stalls – including a Food Fair – ensuring a great, free day out for all the family, from 11am.

Santa Claus will lead Eastleigh’s traditional Christmas Light Parade, which gets under way off Market Street at 5pm, the lights are switched on in the Market Place at 6pm, and the festivities will be rounded off with a spectacular firework display.

Go to the coffee shop which is most local. I mean run by a local company rather than an international. You are more likely to get what you want.

I once asked for a Coke in Starbucks. I thought I would be arrested for being non-pc. This is a coffee shop, they said. Only an idiot like me was going to ask for a soft drink or a cup of tea. I thought at that time they did drinks and refreshment.

Just attended Nursery school concert in Sri Lanka. We were offered a sandwich and a glass of Milo during the interval. Do you remember Milo? They still have it here.
