There’ll be many great events in and around Chandler’s Ford from April, but some are just slightly more surprising than others:
General Election: Thursday 8th June 2017
Has anybody checked if David Dimbleby is actually free on the 8th June? #GeneralElection

For those who are not sure yet, your MP in the local areas is one of them (depending where you are based):
- Steve Brine: MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford
- Mims Davies: MP for Eastleigh Constituency
- Caroline Nokes: MP for Romsey and Southampton North
St. George’s Day Parade
Our yearly local St. George’s Day parade is on Sunday 23 April 2017.
You know the routine: from about 2.30pm, the district Scouts will be marching from Merdon Junior School (Merdon Avenue), on to Winchester Road, then to the Methodist Church. After a short service, they’ll be marching back to the school. Their march will be led by the brilliant 14th Eastleigh Scout and Guide Band (“The Spitfires”).
If you are new to Chandler’s Ford, please don’t miss this brilliant event as you’ll see a few hundred Chandler’s Ford people gathering in the streets (and, possibly exchanging some conversations with strangers). The marching and the music played by The Spitfires are always an absolute delight. It’s going to be a great way to end your two weeks’ Easter holiday (and hopefully you’ll get to work on Monday full of energy).
(Note to reader: If you take some great photos on the day, could you please send them to me, so that I could share them with the community? Credit will be given. Thank you. )
