Green Candidate for Winchester 2015 Election

January 18, 2015 By Mike Sedgwick 2 Comments

Today, in Winchester, I came across this merry band of Greens.

They do not yet have a prospective parliamentary candidate but they assured me that there will be one for Winchester.

So far there are only six of them. They were arranging a selfie. Is six enough for a party? They tell me that they have 216 members and are recruiting fast. Do you feel inclined to put yourself forward?

When has ‘selfie’ become interchangeable for ‘a photograph taken by others’?

Professor Heinz Giegerich, a distinguished phonologist and morphologist at the University of Edinburgh, came across this problem last year. One day he was asked by an American tourist, “Would you please take a selfie of my friend and I in front of this window?”

      Mike,

You may need to tell us a bit more what this party wants to achieve. This website welcomes intellectual discussions.
