Barton Peveril College is celebrating another outstanding set of A Level and vocational programme exam results, achieving some of the best results in the college’s history.

The overall pass rate at A Level for the college was 98.3% with 77% of grades at A*- C. In total, 764 A*/A grades were achieved and 15 students have received offers from Oxford or Cambridge.

The Extended Project Qualification has enabled many students to achieve additional top results, with 149 additional A/A* grades resulting from this qualification.

Among the many individual success stories is Annabelle Gorman, formerly from Thornden School, who achieved A* and A grades in all of her subjects – French, English Literature, Classical Civilisation and an Extended Project Qualification, securing a place to study History of Art at the University of Cambridge.

Anna McQueen, formerly from The Toynbee School, achieved a straight run of A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and an Extended Project Qualification. She has earned a place at the University of Oxford to study Biochemistry.

Barton Peveril boasts 416 students completing vocational courses this summer, in Business, Sport, Media, IT, Health and Social Care and the Performing Arts. These students achieved a 100% overall pass rate, with 94% of them receiving distinction grades – equivalent to A* to B at A Level.

Principal, Jonathan Prest commented:

Barton Peveril students have had an outstanding year. Students have risen to the challenge of studying new A levels with half of grades at A*-B.

For the 400 students taking vocational courses, all passed and 94% have gained Distinction grades!

We know that three quarters of our students will now move on to University and the next stage of their lives and careers. Staff at the College would like to congratulate them on their achievements and wish them well for their future.
