A Nice Sunday Surprise: Church at Four in Hiltingbury

December 29, 2013 By Janet Williams 4 Comments

We went for a pleasant walk this afternoon along the Hiltingbury Lakes in Chandler’s Ford.

It was such a cool, lovely breezy walk. The water ran pretty fast.

Some people were fishing.

When we came out of the wood, I decided to pop in to the nearby church@four service at St. Martin in the Wood church on Queen’s Road.

This was only my second visit to the church@four service since it started nearly two years ago.

I have heard of many good things about the church@four service, where more young people and their families are attending and exploring faith.

Today’s service was a total surprise to me. The setting was informal. The minister was a visiting minister called Ian Fletcher. He is a fantastic story teller, with a great sense of humour.

Ian shared a brilliant video on the birth of Jesus in the 21st century. If you know what Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, “Like” and online sharing (or over-sharing) are all about, this 3-minute video clip may make you smile.

Time change, feelings remains the same.
